My, it's been a while since I updated here! Things are progressing at the house. Wanna see?
The turret roof has been sheeted and is awaiting the roofers' return for papering and shingles. I'm told that the windows will be delivered next week and will all be installed. Whoo Hoo!! Now THAT will certainly change the looks on inside!
Here's what the west side looked like on Tuesday.
Yesterday the crew removed the tarp and took off the rest of the roof and stuff. Today they are setting down new beams and the floor for the storeroom. I imagine they'll even start on the walls sometime this afternoon. We've made several changes to the storeroom area from what the architect had drawn. I think we've finally got a good plan of action and hubby will finally be very pleased with his space. Yep, that's right...the storeroom is HIS space. He'll be totally in charge of it.....and it's contents ![]()
Ahh, the architect. After his next visit out here, he won't need to worry about prune juice or any sort of laxative.....because when he sees what all we've altered on his plans, he's gonna shit!!
When he was here a few weeks ago, he noticed right away the change we'd made to the staircase area (moving the bump over a bit, eliminating a window, enlarging the doorway) and taking the new kitchen out a few feet more. I purposely didn't inform him of the other changes because they hadn't gone into place just yet. There's the cantilever area over the front door and re-placing of the soaking tub; the total redesign of the master shower; total change of the trayed ceiling in the master bedroom; making the turret roof higher; moving around the downstairs bathroom items; and now the drastic change in the storeroom...which involves the roofline on the west side of the house, completely affecting the covered porch area.
Hee hee, I'm pleased with the changes; hubby is pleased with the changes; and hey, WE are the ones that matter in all this, after all ![]()
I need to call the flooring guy and see what progress he's made on finding the samples I wanted to see. It's really all his fault, ya know. He's the one who really wanted me to think about WilsonArt versus Armstrong laminate. I'd found one I'd really really liked, but when I did some internet research, I found a few possibilities in the other brand. I've also been given the assignment to meet with the lighting place and start deciding on light fixtures. The electrician will need my decisions on electrical placements in a few weeks so he can get everything wired in. Yaay!!!
